FAQS

Who will pay my legal fees?

Goodmans Law acts for injured clients on a No Win No Fee Basis. Once your case is accepted, we will enter into an agreement with you whereby if you win your case, the Defendant will pay your legal costs. If you lose your case, you will not be responsible for ANY COST as Insurance will cover this risk. You do not have to pay for this Insurance. Goodmans Law will not deduct costs from your compensation. You will receive your full award.

How do I choose a Solicitor?

Make sure that your Solicitor is a true expert in personal injury litigation. At Goodmans Law, 100% of our work is acting for injured people. We don’t act for Insurance Companies and we don’t to any other type of law. We focus entirely on being the best at what we do. Most of our work is obtained through recommendation. Our clients are the most important people in our business. Our expertise is acknowledged by our multiple specialist panel memberships. How long do I have to bring a claim for compensation?

The general rule is that you must start legal proceedings within 3 years of the date of the accident. However, there are many exceptions to this rule depending on your age, mental capacity and the type of claim. Different countries also have different rules. If you are unsure about time limits, simply give us a call and we will advise you.

My Insurance Company says I have to use their Solicitor.

Not true. Unfortunately, many Insurance Companies tell clients that they must use a Solicitor chosen by the Insurer. In some cases, this will be because the Insurance Company will receive payment from their chosen Solicitor for giving them your case! Insurers will often also tell you that it is a risk for you to go to another Solicitor as they are not specialist or they will take some of your compensation. Not true. Goodmans Law is a specialist law firms with no ties to Insurance companies. We will not take any of your compensation. It is your case and you should choose your Solicitor.
