Under Ian Cohen's leadership, Goodmans Law has gained recognition as one of the most senior and highly respected medical negligence teams in the UK.
Recent high profile cases include a judicial review of the Department of Health's compensation scheme for victims of vCJD and a settlement of over 5 million pounds, acheived for a child left with cerebral palsy as a result of oxygen starvation at birth
Ian Cohen is perhaps best known for his ground breaking multi-party actions, including the current George Rowland Litigation in which Ian is lead solicitor to over 400 clients.
As lead solicitor in the Royal Liverpool Children's Litigation (Alder Hey Organ Retention) Ian secured the highest ever mediated settlement with the National Health Service Litigation Authority.
Having specialised in medical negligence claims for more than 15 years, Ian also regularly assists clients in bringing professional negligence claims against solicitors who have made mistakes or failed to acheive satisfactory results in personal injury or medical negligence cases.
Ian has been featured by The Times as their Lawyer of the Week and has also been profiled in The Lawyer magazine.
Professional Qualifications
Ian Cohen qualified as a solicitor in 1993 and has specialised in medical negligence cases throughout his career.
Professional memberships include the Action for Victims of Medical Accidents (AVMA) panel of medical negligence expert solicitor and the Professional Negligence Lawyers Association (PNLA).
